The demand for powerful and reliable connectivity is immense. Mobile network operators face the challenge of meeting their customers’ rising expectations and providing flexible solutions for stable network connections as needed. This is precisely where the mobile radio mast Axians M30 comes into play, as Marc-Oliver Thomassek, Head of the Planning and Construction Business Unit at Axians Germany, demonstrates in his contribution.

The situation is familiar to many: those who need a stable mobile connection on a train, in a car, or in rural areas are often disappointed. Too many underserved zones, so-called “white spots,” disrupt the connection in this country. Over the next five to eight years, network operators in Germany must therefore install antenna systems at more than 10,000 new locations to ensure secure network coverage and comply with the Federal Government’s Gigabit Strategy.
Infrastructure companies like Deutsche Bahn also face the challenge of building several thousand facilities along their routes to ensure stable connectivity for their customers. However, stationary facilities are not a short-term solution due to lengthy approval procedures and construction times. This is where mobile radio masts like the Axians M30 come into play.
The Axians M30 is a mobile antenna carrier specifically designed for temporary use. Set up within a day, it enables quick and uncomplicated provision of mobile networks and can ensure a secure connection even in emergencies. A lengthy building permit is not required, as the Axians M30 is classified as a “flying structure.” A conventional mobile radio mast, on the other hand, requires extensive approval procedures that can take between six months and a year and a half.
In contrast, the Axians M30 only requires a building notice and coordination with the local building authority, making it operational in about four weeks. The setup is also quick and uncomplicated. While concrete foundations for stationary masts alone take up to 28 days to cure, the mobile Axians M30 is immediately stable thanks to its steel base frame and ballast plates and is operational on approximately 85 percent of Germany’s territory. The Axians M30 is therefore significantly more cost-effective than a permanent solution. Additionally, the antenna equipment can be adapted to different requirements and user numbers.
Even well-served regions and large cities reach the limits of their mobile networks during major events such as sports events, concerts, or trade fairs. Often, it is then impossible, for example, to contact friends via cell phone during a concert visit or to share favorite moments directly on social media.
In these cases, the Axians M30 relieves the existing networks and thus ensures continuous supply for all visitors, making the concert experience pleasant and safe for them. Additionally, the Axians M30 can be erected quickly in the event of failures or during maintenance work on existing facilities, thus maintaining network coverage. In disaster areas or emergency scenarios, the Axians M30 is also an indispensable aid to quickly ensure the necessary communication.

In rural areas with poor network coverage, the Axians M30 also ensures secure mobile connections. It can be used temporarily during construction work or as a permanent solution to close gaps in network coverage. In the industrial sector, the Axians M30 enables innovative IIoT applications and efficient use of machine and production plant data. This allows, for example, proactive maintenance intervals, simplification of human-machine interaction, or checking of hard-to-reach components via sensors.
Axians offers its customers comprehensive service around the mobile radio mast Axians M30. From concept development to building notice and coordination with local authorities, to commissioning and, if necessary, beyond as a managed service – Axians takes care of all necessary steps. Axians also offers maintenance work or modification of the mast as a stationary antenna carrier and thus ensures seamless integration and smooth operation. The transparent pricing ensures that the costs of the M30 are calculable from the beginning and it is the more affordable alternative to a stationary mast.

The Axians M30 is thus the solution to ensure secure mobile connections in various scenarios. At major events, it relieves existing networks; after disasters, it enables secure crisis communication; in industrial use for 5G campus networks, it promotes innovations and ensures business operations. The Axians M30 combines quick availability, flexibility, and security.
Axians stands by customers as a reliable partner and ensures smooth implementation from planning to commissioning and beyond. See the Axians M30 in action in this video. Find more information here.
